| Funny, sexy european music video, one guy, 2 girls, trampoline, fruit? a few years ago, maybe 2004 or 2005, some friends and I saw this video on youtube that was made by some guy pretending to be some kind of sexy ladies man. the guy was european and he always had 2 girls in his videos (he made more than one). the specific video I'm looking for has two girls in bathing suits singing with the guy about some cheesy lovemaking they'll be doing later, and they drive to the beach and the video ends with the girls, and maybe some guys, and some various melons and bananas being thrown into the air while they jump on trampolines. | That was cute, adorable, funny and (yes) sexy. I'm a fan! I loved it all: the glasses, the helmet, the wrist protectors, the colored knee pads -- everything. This video deserves the whole nine yards of my best advice, so here goes: There are several things people ought to know about labelling their videos: "tags" are only the 3rd most important component when it comes to YouTube's search results. Words in the title are 1st, and words in the descriptions are 2nd. And in front of all those characteristics is your YouTube username. Thus, "tags" are really in 4th place, and as such are the least important element in any search. [ Whenever you do a search, how often do you find videos at the very top of the search-results with no matching words in the username, titles or descriptions? Probably never. If you ever do come across results like that with no matches whatsoever, that's when the "tags" are actually relevant in the search. ] Thus, if you're searching for videos (either your own or someone else's), and you want them to appear near the top of the search results, then type the username first and then the title of the video -- if not the most unique words of the title. For example: SATANICMITTENS SEXY. As such, it helps immensely if your username is A) short, B) easy to remember, C) common- sounding, and D) doesn't have any convoluted spelling. For example: Fred, Smosh, Nigahiga, Happyslip, Mileymandy, Lisanova, etc. If you do not want your username being part of the search (maybe because people don't know it) and you want your videos close to the top of the search results, then make your video titles and the descriptions as long as you can using plenty of "buzz" words. (If for some reason you are one of the people who are really fascinated with "tags", include them in your titles.) As for "generic" searches, it's no surprise that YouTube incorporates Google's search engine, which has its own individual set of rules. Thus, consider these when you label your videos: 1 -- Try not to use hyphens (-) in your labelling because they risk being considered like minus signs. There's a chance that compound-words may be eliminated from any search. 2 -- Avoid using 1 or 2-letter words like "a", "I", "at", "in", "my", "of", "to" or "we". Google often ignores those types of words, thus they might not show up in every search. 3 -- Use quotation marks to denote phrases or words that must be together, or else YouTube treats them like separate words. For example, there is a ton of difference between just typing Qantas Airlines vs "Qantas Airlines", or typing the spirit of Australia vs "the spirit of Australia". (Please test my examples by typing them out yourself into YouTube's searchbox.) A great example of all this is when I answered someone's Yahoo question a while ago. They asked:....Why can't I find my video whose title is One in a Million-Hannah Montana? Well:...1) the name "Hannah" is automatically eliminated; 2) the same is true for words such as "in" and "a"; 3) no quote marks means that the leftover words are each treated separately. YouTube's search engine isn't aware that this is supposed to be the name of a song. Thus, in this example, the person may as well have written the words Million Montana One in YouTube's searchbox. Guess which video title didn't show up in the first 10 pages of results? If you want more people to find your videos by accident, there are a few other things that you can do, but first have a pen, paper and maybe a calculator beside you. While your videos are "on screen", go through the "Related Videos" section and find the ones with many views. Click on those videos to find their date -- then figure out their true popularity using the formula "Views" divided by "Number of months on YouTube". Once you have finally figured out which of those videos are the most popular, make note of their titles, descriptions (even their "tags") and then try to do the same or similar with your videos. That way, your videos will become even more "related" to theirs; and whenever people watch those other videos, yours should appear more often and higher up in "their" "Related Videos" section. Another thing for you to consider: when you're on those other videos, click "Statistics & Data" to note which sites "link" to them. Maybe you can try to do the same, or likewise, with yours. If you really want to be a "snot", you can post a "video response" to the most popular videos, but YOU WILL BE HATED by the people who created those videos and by viewers who hate seeing amateurs impose their videos on top of everyone's "text comments". Most people will definitely consider you a "spammer". (Myself, I never click on video responses.) I hope my information has been helpful to you. |
